About Neednot
Neednot is an iPhone app for people who keep thinking about things they are not sure they want. Most apps in this space put a timer on the want and present the wait as discipline. Neednot never locks anything. You can buy at any moment.
Instead, Neednot asks one question, in your own voice, at the moment you want the thing: what result are you actually after here? Roughly half the time there is no answer, and the absence of an answer is itself the finding. After that, each time the thought comes back on its own, you add a tally. Neednot reads how those tallies are spaced over time, not how many there are. Five thoughts in one evening and five thoughts across five months are the same count and opposite meanings.
Everything stays on the iPhone. There is no account, no server, no sync, no analytics, and no advertising. Wanting is private, and the data stays private.
