Does anything ever lock?

No. There is no countdown, no cooling-off period, and no mandatory delay. You can buy something at any moment. The app reads the spacing of your wanting over time instead of blocking you in the moment.

I bought the unlock and it is not showing up

Open Settings and use Restore purchases. That re-checks with Apple for the unlock tied to your Apple account. If it still does not appear, get in touch and include the Apple account email you bought with.

The unlock is tied to your Apple account, not to this device. Restore purchases is how it follows you to a new iPhone.

How do I export my data?

Export is part of the one-time unlock. When you export, Neednot writes a file and you choose where it goes. Neednot never uploads it. The file is yours to keep, move, or delete.

How do I import?

Import reads a file you pick and brings the wants and tallies into Neednot on your iPhone. Importing does not send anything anywhere. The file stays where it is.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

It is gone. All of it, because all of it lived on your iPhone and there is no copy on a server. If you want to keep it, export first.

Can I keep a recording from being saved?

Yes. Settings has a toggle that stops new recordings from being stored. The transcripts are still kept, so you can still read back what you said. You can also delete any single recording from the want itself.

Why does it ask for the microphone?

So you can say out loud what result you are after, and hear it back later. The recording is made on your iPhone, and it is turned into text on your iPhone. Nothing is sent off the device. The permission is asked for the first time you hold to talk, not when the app opens.

Why does it ask for the camera?

So you can photograph the thing you want instead of typing a title. Photos stay on your iPhone.

Does Neednot need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into. Open the app and start capturing.

Does it work offline?

Capturing, tallying, and reading your patterns all work with no connection. The only thing that needs the network is pulling a title and picture for a link you shared, and that happens when you have a connection.
